Danny Drummond Runner-Up at RDGA Sub-Junior Championship

Chris Malec (Blue Heron Hills CC) won his first two matches to advance to the final 8. Chris plays Bob Simms, the golf coach at St. John Fisher College, this morning. Chris is enterting his freshman year at Monroe Community College.
Brian McKenna (Penfield CC) won his first two matches yesterday to take his place as one of the last four left at Penfield's Club Championship. This morning, he faces Dave Cellura in his first match. Brian and Dave have played alot of golf together as members of the Penfield High School golf team and they're both entering their senior year of high school.
Kevin Thornton (Genesee Valley GC) shot 74 to claim medalist honors at the NY State Mid-Am qualifier at Ridgemont CC. This years championship will take place at Elmira CC from Sept. 26th through the 28th.
Brendan Glavin (Oak Hill CC) finished T11th with scores of 73,76. Joe Colosi (Wild Wood CC) shot 75,76 to finish 17th and Brian McKenna (Penfield CC) shot 79,78 to finish in a tie for 30th.

Joe and Danny Drummond (CC of Mendon) both finished inside the top twenty. Joe finished 8th with scores of 75,76 and Danny finished T18th with scores of 87,78.
After two days of scratch competition, 5 players finished tied for 17th or better at Brook Lea. Low was Jake Reimer (Blue Heron Hills) with a 74,71 to finish T6th. Chris Malec (Blue Heron Hills) shot 71,75 to finish T8th. Scott Harris, Jr. (CC of Mendon) shot 73,74 to finish 11th. Kevin Thornton (Genessee Valley) and Alex Weir (Wild Wood CC) shot 71,79 and 78,72 respectively to finish T17th.
Brendan Glavin (Oak Hill CC) beat Brady Yates to claim his first RDGA Junior Championship. On his way to the final, Brendan used some good attitude to keep his spirits up and continue fighting when being down going into the back nine in a couple of his matches.
Danny Drummond (CC of Mendon) came in second place falling to Ian Cummings in the final match at Monroe GC. He improved upon his place from last year's event and beat another GGS player in Alex Tanea (Brookwoods) to advance to the finals.
