TJ Woodruff begins as new student
- John @ 10:47 pm EST We had a first lesson and talked about letting the clubhead go and how mobile the wrists should be. TJ now generates a ton of speed in his practice swing and is trying to trust it and let it go under pressure. Thanks for everything and Good Luck.

McCartney qualifies for National US Public Links, Kaye 1st Alternate

GGS Teams go 1st and 2nd at Caledonia

Monroe CC Tribunes lead after two days at NJCAA National Championship

Long time student, Chris Malec(Blue Heron Hills CC) shot a 69 today at Niagara Falls CC to claim a spot in this years Porter Cup. The Porter Cup is one the top amateur events in the nation.
TJ Woodruff(Cortland CC) was a student at Broome Community College the year MCC won its first National Title. We've kept in touch and he has decided to give the golf pro thing a try. He will be playing in his first PAT in a few weeks and came by for a lesson to help advance his game.
5 players advanced into the NY State Amateur being played at Ravenwood CC. They are:

Joe Colosi(Wildwood CC) earned Medalist honors at todays Ryan qualifier with a 1 under 70. Here's a run down of who advanced and what place they finished:

In the WNYPGA Junior Tour ecent held at Bristol Harbour, Shane Dobesh(The Brookwoods) fired a 76 to finish in solo 3rd place. His highest finish this year. Alex Tanea(The Brookwoods) and GGS newcomer, Trevor Rector(Eagle Vale) both shot an 82 to finish in a tie for 6th place.
Bobby McCartney(Webster GC) continues his hot play with 2 under 142 to win the lone qualifing spot to the USGA Public Links Championship in Oklahoma.
Tom Muto, Jr. and Chris Malec came in at 45th and 64th respectively. Tom shot a 21 over 301 and Chris shot a 29 over 309.
Tom Muto, Jr(Sodus Bay Heights CC) shot an even par 70 today to finish tied for 9th after day one at the Monroe Invitational. Tom is 3 shots back from the leader and was able to manage a good round after cracking the face of his driver on the 9th hole.
Bobby McCartney and Ben Hauser(both of Webster GC) won the RDGA 2man aggregate held at Caledonia CC. Bobby finally got his first win after placing 2nd in his last two events.
Bobby McCartney(Webster GC) finsihed in the CCR Invitational after losing to Jamie Sindelar in 19 holes. Bobby has finsihed 2nd in his last two events.
Keep knocking on the door Bobby. A win is right around the corner.
Chris Malec(Blue Heron Hills CC) shot 71, 66, 72 and 72 for a 7 under 281. This was 5 shots better than the next closest player and set a new 4 day tournament scoring record. His 66 the second day also tied a single day scoring record.
MCC shot a 21 over 1173 to capture the NJCAA Division III National Championship. MCC lead wire to wire in winning their second national title in four years. Chris Malec shot 281, Taylor Page 291, Tyler Phillips 303, Ben Finn 306 and Jordan Wilson 308.
The MCC Golf team is off to a very good start with scores of 285 and 292. The team leads by 23 shots and also has the low individual in Chris Malec. Chris shot rounds of 71-66 to lead over teammate Taylor Page by 4 shots. Taylor was leading after an opening round 68 then followed it with a 73 to stand at 3 under for the tournament.
