There are a bunch of drills. Something similar to this would be to change the position of the stick so it&#039;s perpendicular to the target line instead of on the target line and behind the golfer a few feet. Stick have some of it sticking up in the air with the tip just inside the target line and just under the shaft angle plane. take swing trying to avoid it on the way down and back.

Let me know if that makes sense.

All else being equal this drill will also encourage a shallower angle of attack. I don&#039;t think there is usually a root cause except maybe for concept. If there were, they wouldn&#039;t be able to successfully do the drill.
